Day 7

Today, we finally got to return to our favourite place, the true wonder of Delhi- Tigri. After having potato curry for breakfast (yet again),we set off on our hectic (as always), journey to the slum.
We spent our morning chatting to the older students with Adam learning plenty of Hindi chat up lines, later testing them on our male taxi driver including "Your hair is very nice" and "I like your dancing"!! They certainly seemed to be working as Sunita (one of the ladies at the centre) offered him her daughter’s hand in marriage! The media team interviewed some of the young people on their stories for a video they hope to produce.

The whole team were also flat out painting in the morning and teaching northern Irish slang such as “Bout ye mucker” and “what's the craic”.

Jonny and Matt played endless games of cricket all morning with a few attempts at Kabbadi also.

We took a well deserved lunch and then the younger children arrived. Bethan’s lesson was next where she taught the kids about space and our solar system.

The games team were able to improvise due to the lack of equipment (thanks Mr. Donnelly) and played classic playground games like British Bulldogs and our customary “musical bumps” to their favourite, Justin Bieber. A special shoutout to Salman for his amazing moves and breakdancing which wowed us all! Congrats to the art team as well who have worked tirelessly and now all the murals of Toy Story and Finding Nemo are really coming to life.

Tonight we had a gorgeous meal at China Garden which we can now confirm that some of us prefer to Daitchi (sorry not sorry).
It was yet another fun day filled with smiles a plenty and lots of hugs and handshakes as we left! The children's happiness is so infectious; each day just gets better and better so we can’t wait to see their faces again tomorrow morning!

Goodnight, Jonny, Lauren, Stephanie and Susanna xx
